With 20 years of work experience leading media and marketing organisations, Manish Gupta has had unique exposure to multicultural environments & various sizes of operations across India. He has a complete understanding of print and electronic media with regard to local, regional and national advertising business, its distribution, as well as category-wise revenue planning, budgeting and new revenue streams. Manish is currently Director of Marketing at Indus News & Media Pvt Ltd, a media consultancy company, on a consulting assignment with the Marketing department of two newspaper publishing groups: New Business Age Pvt Ltd and MetroVaartha. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Marketing with Mid Day Infomedia Ltd, an initiative of Jagran Prakashan Ltd. (JPL), India’s top media conglomerate having interests in publishing (print, radio and online). He oversaw a team of 41 members with three General Managers reporting into him. His major responsibilities included sales planning and brand solutions for advertisers. Manish first joined JPL in 2003 as Regional Manager responsible for the state of Uttar Pradesh. During his tenure, revenue growth was 13-18% YOY mainly due to category working and new business development. He was promoted to General Manager - Marketing with JPL in 2008 and was responsible for the group's business and marketing operations across 5 states in Western and Central India. Prior to JPL, he worked for Malayalee Daily as Marketing Manager. Manish received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from the University of Indore in1991 and his MBA from University of Indore (Madhya Pradesh) in 1994.
