Since December 2016, Nora Tela has served as Chief Marketing Officer for Disney Latin America, with strategic and operational responsibilities across all lines of businesses for the branding and communication of all Disney, Marvel and Star Wars efforts in the region, as well as the supervision of the Mexico and South American offices, including Brazil. She began her professional career in 1991 as a Marketing Assistant for Kellogg’s Argentina. Within 2 years she had expanded the line of cereals from two to six, and in partnership with the market’s leading dairy company, she launched the first yogurt with cereal in Argentina. All of these products are still found on shelves and are successful to this day. She then worked for S.C. Johnson as Manager of Detergents and Cleaners, sustaining Vivere softener’s leadership position until it was sold to Unilever in a very profitable move for the company. She then joined The Walt Disney Company Argentina to lead the marketing department within merchandising (consumer products). After two years, she was promoted to Director of Marketing, assuming responsibilities in the areas of retail and third-party promotions. In 2002, she became Regional Director of Merchandising in diverse product categories and succeeded in closing global deals with companies such as Coca-Cola, Kimberly Clark, Kellogg’s, Crayola, Hallmark and Anagram, as well as regional deals with leading food and beverage brands in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. In 2008, she returned to Disney as Regional Head of Marketing, where she was in charge of expanding Disney’s intellectual properties during a strong period of content development and tripled the merchandising business to date. In 2010, she took over Regional Marketing for Media Networks, where she was responsible for the communication of three Disney television channels (Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD), Radio Disney, and all digital businesses, which she continued to develop until 2016 before being appointed as CMO. Tela lives in Buenos Aires with her 14-year-old daughter Lucía and is a fan of entertainment in all its different platforms (books, movies, television, concerts). She practices Spinning and yoga.
