Kristie Kiernan Bouryal, chief marketing and communications officer at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (Ortho), has global responsibility for multi-platform brand, communications and digital marketing strategy, reporting to the chairman and CEO.
Bouryal is an accomplished communications and marketing strategist with more than 25 years of experience building brands, demand and revenue generation. She has a proven track record of success in executive roles spanning global corporate communications, marketing and all forms of media.
Most recently, she was chief marketing and communications officer for Marsh, a global leader in insurance broking and risk management. Across Marsh's global footprint, Bouryal led all aspects of communications, marketing and thought leadership. She increased worldwide demand by establishing a continuum of interconnected strategic marketing channels, from the web, social media, e-blasts and webinars to in-person events and media coverage.
Prior to Marsh, Bouryal held many progressive leadership roles within Nielsen, The Associated Press and ABC News. From leading next generation digital products to positioning companies and solutions, establishing a cadence of global media campaigns, devising multimedia news gathering techniques and driving global thought leadership, Bouryal’s expertise is uniquely cross-platform and diversified.
Bouryal has received numerous awards and recognition throughout her career including an International Business Award for Brand Renovation from the Stevie Awards; a Gold Quill Excellence Award from The International Association of Business Communicators; multiple Gold Hermes Creative Awards from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals; the Chairman’s Prize for Innovation at The Associated Press; and the news industry’s prestigious Peabody Award.
Bouryal holds a B.S. degree from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications.
