Lesleigh Irish-Underwood is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at United Way of New York City (UWNYC), the nonprofit organization that, for nearly 80 years, has been a trusted partner to government, corporations, foundations, and community-based organizations serving low-income New Yorkers. She drives UWNYC's corporate positioning, branding, marketing and communications, public relations, social media and digital content strategies. Leading a culture of innovation and solution-driven communications and marketing, she is steering UWNYC toward increased visibility and impact. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the executive leadership team, she galvanizes change with a passion to build motivated teams and inspire people. An accomplished senior marketing and sales executive, Irish-Underwood’s influence has spanned several world-class publishing brands, including Alfred A. Knopf, Golden Books, Random House Audio, Kensington Publishing and DK Publishing, where she successfully led the domestic re-branding of Eyewitness Books. A catalyst for creativity and collaboration, she serves on the North America Advisory Board for the CMO Council. Irish-Underwood resides in Brooklyn, N.Y., with her husband and two children.
