Nowadays, Vietnamese entrepreneurs have just started to realise the importance of building brand differentiation, as Vietnam's FMCG market has been led by international giants such as Unilever, P&G, and Coca-Cola ever since the '90s. However, we have witnessed in recent years some interesting races between energy drink Number 1 versus Redbull and G7 versus Nescafe or X-men who had confidentally stepped into the personal care category to compete with Romano, Unilever and P&G. The key success of these
brands lies in brand differentiation: Vietnam's brands must build their own differentiation strategy since it is the vital point in building brand position in consumer's mindset.
