2013 Edison Awards

The CMO Council is proud to collaborate with the Edison Awards to help identify game changing products, services and leadership in innovation across a wide variety of industries and disciplines. CMO Council members were invited to join the Panel of Judges and contribute to the cause by voting on the nominations that represent true innovative thinking in new product and service development.

 

The ballot of nominees for the Edison Best New Product Awards™ is judged by a panel of more than 3,000 individuals, including members of the CMO Council and six additional associations representing a wide variety of industries and disciplines. The panel also includes professionals from the fields of product development & design, engineering, scientific and education. In this comprehensive, peer-review process, the nominees were judged on a set of evaluation criteria developed in partnership with Nielsen. These criteria represent a new definition of innovation, leveraging the primary themes of Concept, Value, Impact and Delivery. Finalists symbolize 21st century innovation across 12 categories in a diverse range of industries.

 

Award winners will be announced April 25, 2013 at the Grand Ballroom of Chicago’s historic Navy Pier, one of the city’s premiere venues. The annual Edison Awards program encompasses multiple events over a two-day period including an Opening Reception, the popular Meet the Innovators Forum, the Innovators’ Showcase and the black-tie Awards Gala itself, where the final Awards will be presented.

 

CMO Council members are invited to attend the full program at a 10% discount and become active participants in future innovation programs and initiatives, many through Edison Universe, the Awards’ charitable, not-for profit parent organization dedicated to fostering and supporting innovation through education at all levels. Winning companies and their teams will have the opportunity to be interviewed by national and local press and are able to gain additional visibility and notoriety by licensing the Edison Award Winning Seal for use in future marketing, promotion, and packaging, etc. The full list of Finalists is available here.
