Haresh Khoobchandani was Chief Marketing Officer for Microsoft’s Consumer and Online (C&O) business in Asia Pacific. In this role, he spearheaded Microsoft’s business and marketing strategy across Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Korea. Drawing upon his strong consumer business background, Haresh’s priority was to promote thought leadership, brand preference and marketing effectiveness across the Windows, Windows Live, MSN, Bing and Windows Phone brands. Haresh has been with Microsoft since 1997, most recently as head of the Singapore Business and Marketing Organization (BMO). In this role, he was responsible for the overall business operations and marketing strategy for Microsoft Singapore, and managed all of Microsoft’s product marketing, public relations, branding, corporate and social responsibility programs. During his tenure he increased marketing efficiency and drove consistent growth across the business, winning him several internal accolades in recognition of his leadership. Haresh has also held several other leadership positions, including Senior Director for Microsoft Asia Pacific’s Small and Midsized Solutions and Partners (SMSP) business group, and Senior Director of Microsoft Asia Pacific’s mid-market business group. He was also Director of SMSP for Microsoft Malaysia, where he successfully grew the business by 45% over two years. Prior to joining Microsoft, Haresh was the business development manager at Tech Pacific Singapore Pte Ltd, where he more than tripled profit margins in the consumer business. He also acted as a consultant to Courts Singapore, integrating their computer retail business into their consumer electronics and furniture business. Haresh is the Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Computer Society (SCS). He also sits on the Singapore Polytechnic Advisory Committee for the School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology and the Information Technology Advisory Committee at Nanyang Polytechnic. Haresh holds a Masters of Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Stirling.
