Shalini Rao is a marketing professional with experience in core marketing, business management as well as business consulting. She has worked for a variety of prominent organisations like the Taj Group, Mars India, McKinsey&Co, Gillette India (now P&G) and Marico to name a few. Her responsibilities over the years have grown from basic brand marketing to driving business vision, growth and development as part of a leadership team. During the course of her career in these diverse spaces, she has worked on developing and executing India market entry strategies for brands like Pedigree, Snickers and Uninor Telecom. In addition she has also worked on several new product launches and segment entry strategies for brands like Captain Cook, Saffola and Braun. In her latest role as Global Head of Marketing for the Taj Group, Shalini was responsible for building and strengthening the portfolio of brands within the group. As a function head she helped drive consumer insight and digital marketing in an ever-evolving space as well as brand loyalty and advocacy through the existing programs. She was also a member of the Consumer Insights team that worked as a think tank and knowledge partner across the Tata Group.
