The last 5.5 years of my work experience has given me insights into, probably, the most dynamic business in this country – the Indian entertainment industry – first as marketing head for Zee TV and then as business head for the same. During this I have been part of the team which took Zee from a weak number 3 to a strong contender for the top position in the Hindi GEC genre. My current assignment is to head the Zee business in the Asia Pacific region. This assignment comes with a P&L responsibility for Zee operations involving revenues from ad sales, syndication and subscription in the Asia – Pacific territory. Prior to that most of my work experience has been in brand building; having worked for over 13 years in the FMCG as well as the service industry with organizations like Parle Products, L'Oreal, Taj Group and Shaw Wallace. In a snap shot the key high-lights of my career are : - building brands in FMCG, service as well as the entertainment industry - handling mass brands at Parle, Shaw Wallace and Zee as well as premium & lifestyle brands at L'Oreal and Taj - creating & establishing categories as well as re-launching brands at the maturity stage of their Product Life Cycle - gaining consumer insights across a cross section of consumer profiles - kids at Parle, women at L'Oreal, men at Shaw Wallace and the family at Zee TV - delivering top line and bottom line targets.
